Teddy

Eyes as dark as ebony,
Smiled and welcomed me,
We skirted around as strangers,
Curious of our strengths and dangers.
Purchase of an I-phone,
Unbolted conversations as if ones own,
In an unknown land,
Time slipped by like sand.

Countless nights gazing at the Universe,
Dreaming of a parallel verse,
Fireworks lit the black night,
Galloping horses on meadows neighed.
Frequent evenings of stirring talks,
We harmonized our footfalls as we walked,
Taken over by humdrum of life,
Nonetheless, I relished the sounds of fife.

As catamarans gently sway,
Under the steady gaze of moon rays,
The frequently occupied bench,
Only occasionally did blench.
Gathering Memories of a lifetime,
Only to be left feeling maimed!
Alas, I realise it’s only an interlude,
Time has come to evoke St. Jude.
